Before you fly
These platform conditions work together with the fare rules shown for your booking and the operating carrier's own conditions. Review all three before payment.
1. Scope and acceptance
These Conditions of Carriage apply when you search for or book an airline ticket through BookMyTravel. By confirming the required consent during checkout, you agree to these conditions, our Terms of Use, our Privacy Policy, the disclosed fare rules, and the operating carrier's applicable conditions.
Mandatory rights available under applicable consumer or aviation law are not limited by these conditions. If a provision conflicts with applicable law, the law will prevail to the extent of that conflict.
2. Our role and the carrier's role
BookMyTravel acts as a booking platform and intermediary. The contract for air carriage is between each passenger and the ticketing or operating airline. The airline controls flight operations, schedules, check-in, boarding, baggage acceptance, onboard conduct, special assistance, and the performance of carriage.
The airline's own conditions of carriage and fare rules remain applicable. Where an airline rule is more specific to a flight, fare, route, or service, that rule will govern unless applicable law requires otherwise.
3. Booking information and passenger names
You must provide accurate passenger names, dates of birth, contact details, and travel-document information. Names should match the government-issued identification or passport that will be presented for travel.
Tickets are normally personal and non-transferable. Name corrections, passenger substitutions, and itinerary changes depend on the selected fare and airline policy and may attract airline charges, fare differences, and disclosed service fees.
4. Fares, taxes and payment
Displayed prices may include base fare, airline surcharges, taxes, and selected ancillary services. A final breakdown is presented before payment. Prices and availability can change until payment is completed and the airline confirms the reservation.
A payment authorization or order acknowledgment is not by itself a confirmed ticket. Travel is confirmed only after the airline or supplier accepts the booking and the required ticket or booking reference is issued.
5. Changes, cancellation and refunds
Voluntary changes and cancellations are governed by the fare rules shown during booking and the carrier's policy. Applicable airline penalties, fare differences, non-refundable components, and disclosed platform fees may be deducted.
Approved refunds are returned through the applicable payment channel after receipt or confirmation from the carrier. Bank, card-network, airline, and payment-provider processing times may apply. Statutory refund rights remain unaffected.
6. Schedules, delays, cancellations and denied boarding
Flight times are not guaranteed and may be changed by the carrier for operational, safety, regulatory, weather, airport, or other reasons. We will pass on material carrier updates using the contact information supplied with the booking when they are made available to us.
Rebooking, refreshments, accommodation, refund, or compensation for disruption is determined by applicable law and the carrier's policy. Passengers travelling to or from India can review the Ministry of Civil Aviation's Passenger Charter for official guidance.
7. Check-in, boarding and no-show
Passengers must meet the carrier's check-in, security, boarding-gate, and document-verification deadlines. Arrive with sufficient time for airport procedures. Failure to report on time may be treated as a no-show and may cancel remaining sectors where permitted by the fare rules.
8. Identification, visas and travel documents
Each passenger is responsible for valid identification, passport validity, visas, permits, health documentation, and transit or destination requirements. Entry or boarding decisions are made by carriers and competent authorities. BookMyTravel does not guarantee that a passenger will be permitted to board or enter a country.
9. Baggage and dangerous goods
Cabin and checked-baggage allowances depend on the carrier, fare, route, and passenger type. Excess, oversized, special, or sports baggage may require advance approval and additional payment.
Passengers must not carry prohibited or dangerous goods except as expressly permitted by law and carrier rules. The carrier may inspect, refuse, offload, or restrict baggage for safety, security, or regulatory reasons.
10. Infants, minors, medical needs and assistance
Rules for infants, unaccompanied minors, pregnancy, medical clearance, mobility assistance, service animals, and special seating vary by carrier. Requests should be made early and are subject to airline confirmation. A request entered during booking is not confirmed until accepted by the carrier.
11. Passenger conduct and safety
Passengers must comply with security requirements and lawful instructions from airport and airline personnel. A carrier may refuse carriage or take other permitted action where conduct threatens safety, security, order, other passengers, or flight operations.
12. Liability and events beyond control
Carrier liability for passengers, baggage, delay, injury, or loss is governed by applicable law, international conventions where relevant, and the carrier's conditions. BookMyTravel remains responsible for its own booking-platform obligations but is not the operator of the flight.
Neither the carrier nor BookMyTravel is responsible beyond what applicable law requires for events outside reasonable control, including severe weather, air-traffic restrictions, airport closure, government action, security events, strikes, public-health measures, or system outages.
13. Personal data
Passenger and contact information may be shared with airlines, reservation systems, payment providers, authorities, and service partners as reasonably necessary to search, book, service, secure, and support the journey. Details are provided in our Privacy Policy.
14. Support and complaints
For booking-platform assistance, contact support@bookmytravel.com with your itinerary or booking reference. Operational complaints may need to be handled directly by the airline. Nothing in this section prevents a passenger from using AirSewa, a consumer forum, a court, or another remedy available under applicable law.
Carrier policies and applicable law may change. The latest airline fare rules shown for your booking and mandatory passenger rights will continue to apply.
